Inspired by the Åland archipelago and the bird's free movement over sea and islands, Fögel is a symbol of freedom and belonging. The name comes from the archipelago island of Föglö, whose name is believed to mean “the place where there are many birds”.

Where does my jewellery come from?

Åland – a tranquil island in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden. Here, in the beautiful Maritime Quarter in the heart of Mariehamn, you’ll find both our store and our workshop.

Guldviva was born in Åland in 1989 and has always kept its production here. For us, it has been important to have full control over the entire process, where jewellery making and sales go hand in hand. This way, we can ensure the highest quality and offer personal service.
