Three houses. One Guldviva.

In Sjökvarteret in Mariehamn you'll find Guldviva's flagship shop and workshop. It is the only one of our premises open to the public and the natural meeting place for our customers.

Here visitors can discover our collections while part of the craft takes place just a few metres away. The shop is the face of Guldviva — a place where our jewellery and stories meet people from near and far.

A little further north in Sjökvarteret stands our newer, two-storey workshop building. Here calm, tools, technique and expertise are gathered under one roof.

This is where many of our pieces are made and finished by our goldsmiths. The building's purpose is to give room for development, refinement and the daily craft behind every finished piece.

In the middle of the Åland archipelago lies our atelier and workshop on Hummersö. Here, surrounded by sea, cliffs, forests and open horizons, we find much of the inspiration that shapes our collections.

The archipelago's plants, birds, shapes and moods return again and again in our jewellery. Many ideas are born here before making their way on to the workshops in Mariehamn, where they grow into finished designs.

Each house has its own task, but none of them stands alone. The inspiration from the archipelago meets the craft in the workshops and finally gets to meet our customers in the shop.

Together the three houses form a cycle in which design, production and encounters with people belong together. It is in this interplay that Guldviva lives, works and develops.

We believe in slow jewellery – pieces created with care, thoughtfulness and respect for the craft. Our jewellery is designed and made in our own workshops in Åland, at a pace where quality is always allowed to come before speed.

We work close to the environments that inspire us. The sea, the archipelago and the Åland landscape are not just motifs in our jewellery – they are part of our everyday life. That is why every Guldviva piece carries with it something of the place where it was made.

At a time when much is manufactured far from both origin and story, we want to do the opposite. Our jewellery has a clear anchoring in Åland, in the craft and in the people who create it. That is what makes it Guldviva.
